Ibrahim and Ismail continued spreading the message of Islam. Sadly at that time there was no place for Muslims to pray in, and to concentrate solely on Allah (swt). Their wish of such a place came to be when Allah (swt) ordered Ibrahim to build the Ka’bah. Ibrahim went to his son and said to him, "Allah has ordered me to build a house here." He said, pointing to a hillock higher than the land surrounding it. They headed to that place and began building the foundations of the Ka’bah. They built it by having Ismail hand his father the stones to be put in place. When the wall got longer that Ibrahim could not reach it; Ismail took a large stone and he rested it in front of his father to stand on it. This large stone which prophet Ibrahim stood on is near the Ka’bah tell today, and it’s called Makam Ibrahim. After they finished building the Ka’bah Angel Jibreel descended from heaven, and he showed Ibrahim the rituals of making Hajj. Prophet Ibrahim is known as Khalil Allah, or the friend of Allah (swt). He is also the father of the prophets, since all of the prophets are his descendents.
