Migration to Medina

 

      Muhammad (SAW)'s migration to Yathrib (Medina) in 622. Ali (RAA) risked his life by sleeping in Muhammad (SAW)'s bed to mimic him and frustrate an murder plan, so that Muhammad (SAW) could flee in security. This night is called Laylat al-Mabit. According to some hadith, poetry was revealed about Ali (RAA) about his sacrifice on the night of Hijra which says, "And among men is he who sells his nafs (self) in exchange for the pleasure of Allah"

Ali (RAA) stay alive the plan, but danger his life again by staying in Mecca to take out Muhammad (SAW)'s orders: to re-establish to their owners all the goods and possessions that had been trust to Muhammad (SAW) for safe keeping. Ali (RAA) then went to Medina with Muhammad (SAW)'s daughter Fatima, his mother and two other women.
