Ali ibn Abi Talib

Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RAA) was the cousin and son in low of the prophet Muhammad (SAW). He ruled the Islamic khalifahate from 656 to 661. Sunni Muslims regard Ali (RAA) the fourth and the final khalifah.  Whereas shi’a Muslims consider Ali (RAA) as the first Imam and regard him and his grandchildren the rightful successors to the Muhammad (SAW). This argument divided the Muslim community into Sunni and shi’a branches.

Ali (RAA)Ibn Abi Talib (RAA) father was Abu Talib ibn Abd al Muttalib and his mother was Fatima bint Asad but he was raised in the household of Muhammad (SAW) who himself was raised by Abu Talib, Muhammad (SAW)’s uncle. When Muhammad (SAW) received revelation Ali (RAA)was between the first to accept his massage, offer his life to the cause of Islam.

Ali (RAA) migrated to Medina soon after Muhammad (SAW).  There Muhammad (SAW) told Ali (RAA) that he had been structured by God to give his daughter Fatimah to Ali (RAA) to marriage. For the ten years that Muhammad (SAW) directs the community in Medina, Ali (RAA) was very lively in his service, leading parties of worries on battle, and transport massage and commands. Ali (RAA)took part in approximately all the battles fought in protection of the early Muslim community.

 

Ali (RAA)was chosen khalifah by Muhammad (SAW)’s companions in Medina after the killing of the third khalifah, Uthman ibn Affan.   He faces challenge and civic war (First Fitna) through his area. In 661 Ali (RAA)was blitzed whilst praying in the mosque of Kufa, dying couple days later. In Muslim culture, Ali (RAA)is appreciated for his bravery, knowledge, faith, truthfulness, unbending devotion to Islam, deep faithfulness to Muhammad (SAW), equal action of all Muslims and kindness in forgiving his beaten enemies, and so is central to mystical civilization in Islam.
