OctoTo: Prospective Science Fair Judges

From: Sr. Sahar Ahmad

Subject: 2013 Salam School Science Fair for Middle School and Salam School Science Fair for Elementary

Dear Perspective Judge:

We are seeking qualified judges for the Salam School Science Fair. We are holding two science fairs and are seeking volunteers for both two. The Middle School Science Fair will be held at Salam School, the main campus, located at 4709 S. 13th on Thursday, January 31, 2013 (Middle School).  The Salam School Elementary Science Fair will be held at the elementary campus on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. In order to accommodate the large number of student participants anticipated, we would need a minimum of twenty five (25) judges for Middle School, and fifteen (15) judges for Elementary School. It has been our experience that teachers or professionals from the science area make the best judges. Not only do they have the professional background to judge an exhibit on the grounds of its scientific merit, but they also realize the abilities of the students.

You can help in two ways: first, by volunteering to serve as a judge and second, by recruiting others.

Serving as a science fair judge is a rewarding experience that will take little of your valuable time. If you are able to volunteer on January 30, or January 31, 2013 (from 8:00 AM to approximately 2:30 PM), fill out the enclosed Judge Information Form and mail it to the address on the form. We anticipate the need for a number of judges.  Each judge would be asked to evaluate 15 to 20 projects during a full day period. There will be a light breakfast served before the judging begins and a light lunch at 11:00a.m.

Please duplicate copies of this letter and the Judge Information Form and distribute them to friends and colleagues.

For further information on science fair judging, contact Sahar Ahmad at 414-282-0504 sahmad@salamschool.com or Wanis Shalaby mailto:wshalaby@salamschool.com

Thank you in advance for your commitment to the students of Salam School.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Sahar Ahmad  (Salam Middle School Science Teacher)
